TThe Red Cross EU Office represents the 28 Red Cross National Societies of the European Union Member States together  with the Norwegian Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), which federates 189 Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and is the world’s largest humanitarian network. The Red Cross has a strictly humanitarian approach to migration based on the recognition of the individuality and aspirations of every migrant. It focuses on the needs, vulnerabilities, and potential of migrants, irrespective of their legal status, type, or category.

The Red Cross EU Office assists National Red Cross Societies within the European Union to understand EU Asylum and Migration policies and the common European asylum system. Through the identification of policy recommendations that stem from the practical experience of its members, the Red Cross EU Office seeks to influence EU policies in order to reduce migrant vulnerability. It advocates EU migration policies that safeguard humanitarian principles and the dignity of refugees and migrants.
